Outcomes over output
We measure success by the change we create in your business, not the volume of documents we produce. Every engagement starts from the outcome and works back.
Urbanite is led by Urban Bettag, an enterprise and solution architect specialising in technology transformation, with more than twenty years across energy, utilities, financial services and the not-for-profit sector. You work with the person doing the work: independent of any vendor, fluent with the C-suite, and accountable for the outcome.
They are not slogans. They are the standards we hold ourselves to, and the ones you can hold us to.
We measure success by the change we create in your business, not the volume of documents we produce. Every engagement starts from the outcome and works back.
Our advice is vendor-neutral. We are paid for judgement, not to push a product. When you choose to build, the same team can deliver. That independence is what makes our assurance worth something.
We tell you what you need to hear, early. The most valuable thing a partner can offer a board is an honest read of the risk in front of them.
We leave teams stronger than we found them. Capability transfer is designed into how we work, so the change outlives our engagement.
Disciplined enough to be trusted with the hardest programmes; flexible enough to meet you wherever you are.
We get to the truth quickly, the real constraints, the real politics, the real state of the estate. No transformation succeeds on a flattering picture.
We frame the options, model the trade-offs and agree a direction your board can commit to with confidence, costed, sequenced and defensible.
We turn direction into build-ready architecture and design, the level of detail that makes delivery predictable rather than hopeful.
We stay close through delivery as an independent authority, keeping decisions honest, risk visible and the architecture intact under pressure.
Urban is an enterprise and solution architect with more than twenty years aligning technology with business goals, across energy and utilities, financial services, construction and the not-for-profit sector.
He has led transformation architecture end-to-end for a commercial energy supplier and, currently, a global standards body, and spent nine years architecting a major UK energy supplier’s smart-metering and customer platforms. He works hands-on, from direction and business case through platform selection to delivery.
Urbanite is a founder-led practice: you work directly with Urban, and when a programme needs more hands, he brings in a trusted network of associates and stands behind their work.
He writes on the craft, too: a recent piece revisits the art of systems architecting, twenty years on.
Transformation is hard, and it moves fast. I take on the work others find too tangled, where senior, independent judgement earns its keep and helps you accelerate.
The engagements we’re proudest of began as the ones nobody else wanted to take on.
